NIMBA was established in 1988.

The aim of the organisation is to work towards reducing premature birth, illness, disability and death in all babies.

In N.I. approximately 1500 babies are born too soon.

80% of babies, who are born alive but die in the first 28 days of life, are born prematurely.

On average there are 2 still births every week in Northern Ireland.

As a Northern Ireland Charity with limited statutory funding we depend on the generosity of the public and our own fundraising efforts to ensure money is raised to fund research, provide a wide ranging family support service and deliver education programmes.
