NIMBA's education programme commenced in 1997 with the establishment of a Consultation Panel consisting of representatives from Nursing in the Community and Hospital sectors.

The Education Programme provides Annual Conferences, Seminars and relevant literature for health professionals. Awareness Campaigns which highlight issues of relevance to the public are also incorporated.

The education programme aims to:

1. Raise awareness of NIMBA's Support Services Programme to Health Professionals.

2. Provide education on NIMBA's funded Medical Research Programme.

3. Provide an opportunity to update Health Professionals in issues relating to their area of practice and link with NIMBA's aims.

4. Provide a forum which enables networking of Health Professionals involved in the care of mothers and babies.

5. Provide an Annual Conference and Seminar Programme.

6. Provision of an annual publication - Medical Research Update, which covers NIMBA's past, present and future research projects.

7. Provision of an awareness campaign for the public.
